New website launching - testers wanted!

Post by find my next ride »

Hi all,
After reading a few threads on forums about the launch and demise of Wheedle I realised that there are whole lot of people willing and able to test and provide feedback for those about to launch a new website. On the 24th of October 2014 I am launching www.findmynextride.co.nz. Ride is basically a socially interactive automotive auction website. It’s a place where you can list and sell cars but also do so much more. It’s all about cars and the people that love to drive, modify and fix them.
Help needed. On the 1st of October 2014 the site will be ready for testing and I would like to invite all toyspeed users to log on, list, sell, communicate and see what the site is all about. Basically give it hell and then tell me what you think, whether its good and bad.
We are a small company but I think we have do things right (yes we are based in NZ and the site was built in NZ, by kiwis) so if you are keen please let me know. I can either send you the link on the 1st of October or post it here? I am new to this forum, scrolled it for answers to questions I have had in the past but never posted. So please let me know what will work best.
Thanks, Cris

Will the website be mobile friendly i.e. did you want mobile testers too?

Hi lazy
Yes it will be. An app always works better on mobile and that is our stage two plan, but in the mean time we hope it will work well on mobile platforms and therefore your input would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about other people but I hate with an absolute passion Mobile app and web versions of sites... They are always so lacking in info... so useless to use... just a poor experience. If you have a great experience on desktop version people will use it on any device regardless.

Mostly have to agree with this. With few exceptions mobile websites suck. Trademe's is a good example of a crap mobile website.
Also, if your website wont work without cookies and particularly 3rd party cookies I won't bother going back.

We need a few car enthusiasts to put our website through its paces prior to our public launch - any takers?? Its a socially interactive automotive auction website - create a profile, upload photos of your current car and dream car, ask other users questions, find parts, socialise! We want your feedback good or bad - We can send a link to the testing site if you are interested.
