We just put a 101 gze into an ae85.
I hooked the tacho up to pin 20 on the A connector which is a black wire and called IGT

It all works fine, but, as soon as the revs go over 5000, the needle just drops back to 0 and when the revs come back down it flicks back to 5000, and drops like normal ...

Just run a smaller battery, Like one of those electric wheelchairs, they are small, and will draw less charging current.
When the battery is charged the current will drop more. The alternator will only charge as much as can be used, so you might as well leave it connected with a smaller battery ...

i have seen a rotor mini.
it was running a 12a with 13b turbo externals and a corona turbo gearbox.
Its not hard to do, you just need to make a bellhousing and some engine mounts
