It shouldn't change the maths at all. I've swapped out my C52 for a C56. It all bolted up and worked and I didn't change anything. Check to see if there is any slack between the clutch fork and the slave cylinder push rod. You could try adding to the length of the push rod id there is some slack ...

Can all the hot air get out from under the bonnet area easily? Years ago the 4WD Escort rally cars had cooling problems. Opening up the front to get more air in didn't solve it but a couple of vents on the bonnet did.

Could it be the engine bay temp sensor for the side fan? Mine has been gone for years so I can't check on mine. Or maybe an air temp sensor for the ECU?

As the fuel level drops, especially when running right out, the crap in the tank gets dragged to fuel pickup point as there's a lot less fuel for it all to float around in. Tank design might even assist with that.

Or maybe there's a blocked fuel filter if you got the fuel so low and it's picked up crap from the bottom of the tank.
