^ Maybe he has a C series or other bell housing which can fit S series engines. Knowing what it came off wouldn't help him find out whether it fits an S and if so whether it positions the engine upright or angled.

Never know.

Exactly, I have a bell, and i know what its off, i want to check if ...

check this one out
this is the GASKET KIT, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL for a CR38
using the new parts cross-reference all these vehicles use the same kit, so i would image, youll find any of these autos will bolt straight in

easiest thing to do would be to swap out the auto, most wreckers are giving away a free auto with the 1uz they sell

check it out
all the cars take the same gasket kit for the auto

i couldnt find the cr39, only the cr38, so im assuming must be virtually the same, here show the g/box 2wd and 4wd http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_1995_T ... _3301.html
and here is the transfer http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_1995_T ... _3609.html as you can see the gasket is 36143 and the hiace http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_1995_T ... _3609.html has the same one too

looking at toyodiy.co the litace and the hiace both have the same transfer case, so it should just be matter of swapping out the auto with a manual. should be fairly straight forward. youll just need to get linkages for the stick, bell to match, fly etc.
but as i said youll find most autos should ...

you should be able to put inplace an auto from the other larger toyota etc.
when they put a 1uz into the 4wd hilux, they use the 1uz auto, unbolt the tail shaft housing, and bolt it to the 4wd bit. from my understanding, you just have to cut the very end of the 2wd tailshaft to get it to fit, so in ...

get one from a van from a wrecker.
the resivor on a master is held on by a massive hollow bolt from memory, you just unscrew it and lift off the rsovir, all vans ive seen have a remote resivor, you just get the banjo bolt from that master and screw it in,
easy as.

i did a body lift of 3.5" so i didnt have to modify the sump to fit around the diff head.

tradeparts on wairau rd, do balancing and machining of the fly wheel. take your flywheel in there with your pressure plate(if you already have, or buy one from them) and get it machined and balanced, machining is only $50, and they normally have to check the balancing when they machine it, otherwise ...
