Yep I'm an idiot. Somehow had the ground wire on the head unit connected to the illumination wire. So with a bit of rewiring and a new tail light fuse all is sorted. Cheers for your help

AE82 Dash lights disapeared?

Installed a head unit in my ae82 yesterday, didn't touch anything to do with the dash, but now I have no dash lights behind my speedo/tacho. Before I rip it all out is there anything obvious I should check? Can't find any blown fuses in the engine bay or kick panel, and I dont appear to have yanked ...

bit of a rip off, i'm sure you could get something better for $5k. He'll come to his senses when noone buys it i wouldn't buy this one for 4g. Especially by the sounds of that sunroof. I probably wouldn't buy one identical to my old one for 5g either but that was 4 years ago, I was 18 and once i ...

I paid 5000 for mine about 4 years ago but it was mint, 120kms and completely orginal except for the alarm, barely a scratch on it. Still haven't seen one like it and I'm still realy f**king angry it got written off and its been like a year since it happened.

When my gti was written off a few months back i was with state and had the option of buying the wreck for $300. I had nowhere to store it so i didn't and it was sold off at turners. I was on third party/fire/theft but got covered by the 'protection from uninsured drivers' part of the policy. Got ...

Cheers for the info, cool photos also. Won't be able to get along tomorrow but hopefully next thurs. Haven't been to one for a good year or so. I had kings in the old car and they were reasonably hard considering it still had the factory wheels on it. Only problem was it it had cheap munroes in it ...

Its going in to get the rust sorted out after christmas, then suspension is next on the list. Not too sure what to get as far as shocks and springs go but definately will be looking at that whiteline anti roll bar. Heard alot of mixed feelings about king springs and munroe shocks. May look into ...

Was on trademe. Got it from a guy over in wadestown. Has quite a bit of surface rust mostly from stone chips but only 120,000kms on the clock and the interior is in better condition than i've ever seen on any ae82. Don't know if those k's are genuine but i have the ownership history from 1996 when ...

i have often wondered, as some of the wagons came out with abit of a bulge on the bonnet, would look nice on the fxgt i reckon.
