Re: Running car with oil pressure switch unpluged
Usually just runs to the dash light and not the ecu.

Re: New Import world record - EKanoo/Titan Toyota GT86
Kevin was talking about still waiting on the engines a few months ago but may have progressed since then. Will talk to him at the next event and see where they are at.

The 350z is still a work in progress going from what Kevin said on FB. Busy with their business lately I believe. Engines need further development?

Re: No oil pressure at cold start blacktop 4age
Yeah your right about the IGT defeat, had forgotten about throwing an error code - ecu or coil power works though, have done that before.
As you say, best bet is to fix the issue rather than a band aid solution

You could always wire a momentary cut off button into the ecu power or the IGT output so that the engine cranks till your happy there is pressure then starts?

Re: Electrical niggles. NZ AE82 GT Corolla
As above - good advice there.
I wonder if the fuel pump is a bit slow to build pressure for the initial start? I had this with a customers AE82 Liftback, it was the combo of a clogged filter and a very sad pump. Swapped them out and it was back to being a 1 turn and it starts deal.

Re: Setting baseline idle - 5E-FHE
You don't need to use diagnostic mode to set the idle speed but it is used when setting the base timing which in itself has an effect on idle speed. So bridge TE1 and E1 on the diagnostic connector and set the base timing to 10 degrees with a timing light. Remove the diagnostic bridge then with the ...

Re: AE92 Levin Smallport 4age Distributor connector melted
The reason the distributor wiring looks beefy is that its shielded which protects the trigger signal wiring from electrical interference. Actual voltage induced by the pickups is very low and current is minimal.

What fuel pressure reg is it running? I'd be checking the base pressure on the rail and going from there.
