yea the battery was run dry (no water inside) the other month because its so old and i didn't bother to check it. Ive got it out charging now so if it works when its charged up its def the battery.
Theres a clicking sound when i turn the key but no attempt at starting

yea the batt is pretty dodgy but would that cause it to just click and not even try to turn over?

Solved!!

Car started fine this morning then go to start in the arvo and only clicking not even trying to turn over. This happened about a month ago and then next day the car began starting fine up until now. batt is still reading 12-13 volts, so im guessing its the starter motor. I can still roll start it ...

went 2 a workshop today and they had a play, thought it was the clutch.they checked the gbox oil and was fine. said as the clutch wasn't slipping no real need for it to be replaced yet.... :roll: might get a second opinion somewhere, any reccomendations??

Grinding noise - gbox??

Ive got a trueno ae101 and when in first gear sometimes and reverse most times, there is a grinding noise when releasing the clutch (about 3/4 of the way out). It sounds like its not in gear but its not as loud as that, but has a whyning grinding sound.
2nd 3rd 4th 5th etc are great, no slips ...

engine mount

hi, i got an ae101 silvertop and im almost 100% sure i have a broken/lose engine mount. its coming from the drivers side. As there are no places open on a sunday, can anyone give me an estimate on how much is it to fix, or if i can check it somehow?
seems to clunk when on/off on accelerator

umm yeah i guess you could say its "limp" but that doesn't really hhelp nor solve my problem :(

ok, i just reset the ecu and i started it up, started sweet and idled like it should for about 3 seconds before the check engine light came on and the revs etc dropped.....

i think my wire is fraying. it sometimes reads and sometimes doens't. Does anyone have an engine diagram or links to, of when there wire goes from, i dont know what to look for in the engine bay, behind the cluster looks all good.

ok, i went to jaycar to get some rca type "sound whinging quietners" but they had sold out, so i went for the biggest shiniest one there which was just under $40 , all you do is put it on your battery then onto the power wirer going to the amp, it did quieten down the whining, but it is still there ...

thanks a lot, i had seen that article before, but being lazy, i like to take the easiest way out of a situation.
and i wrote the novel so people dont ask such questions like "are your rca's next to the power" etc...

what kind of amp is it? Im pretty sure it will be the amp, i had this same problem with my front speakers when i had a crappy little amp, but now ive got a better amp and it doesn't do it. amps have a feature called soft turn on/off or something along thoes lines, obviously yours doesn't.
