Im rebuilding this 4age and finally got some time to get to work.

All that is left for the moment is to get the head off, this is proving quite a problem. Ive done all that this book has asked of me and it still wont budge. ive tried hitting it with a wooden mallet to dislodge it and it ...

to answer your question, 4age 16v to 4agte
if you have a redtop one just fit gze pistons and rings, that up grades the internals to the exact same spec as 4agzes, then you carry on as if you had one to start with.
it can be a lot cheaper to do it this way rather than buy a 4agze cause they can cost ...

Cause 4age/4agze engines with the right cams and tuning will rev upwards of that.........plus the reliability and simplicity of the 4age engines make it a great first choice.

Thats why i choose it, im only just beginning the rebuild as well.

Would strongly recommend them as they are great ...

Na problem. There is a plastic cover that covers the tension spring, and this is blocked by the water pump and the crankshaft pulley. But i think i just worked how to get it off, im going to remove the part above the alternator. I think its like the power steering, or something like that.

Well the engine was completely drained before sale.......

Ermm, as in the timing belt, howz that come off? :D

Its tight :oops: and a good one so i dont wanna cut if off!!

Thats what i thought!!!!

They have actually raised off where they lie so they are loose, but for some reason they dont lift out.

I'll have another look at the book, any ideas ppl?

Camshaft Removal?

I am currently rebuilding a 4age silvertop 20v, and just removed all the camshafts bearings and bolts, then took the two main bolts out of the cams. I am now currently confused as to what is still holding both the cams and camshafts in place?

Any ideas?

Ive followed a book so far, and just got ...

lol no dont worry, i talked to you bout this not long ago, i perhaps included irrelevant info. I am looking at putting certain TRD items in this engine, but not cams.

And dont worry, ill contact you when i have the money. Ive heard you are pretty good with deals. :D

Hey guys/gals

Im currently rebuilding a 4age 20 silvertop and am beginning to take the camshafts off, unfortunately the bolts holding them on are making me look like a right **^%^$# tard, can anyone and everyone suggest as many ideas as possible to get a bolt off, and dont say turn it!lol ...

Hey im in the process of a silvertop 20v rebuild.

Just one simple question: Does anyone know if their are any differences between the internals in a blacktop 4age and a silvertop 4age?

well high performance wud perhapz mean 300kw at the wheels and then increasing, i want to strengthen the whole insides of the engine so when it comes ot adding horseys, i dont have to worry bout the internals.

Where is this rebuild guide ure talking bout?
