I just installed a gps alarm. It's a chinese one and cost me a bit over $300 from ebay. It takes a sim card and you can txt it to get the location/status. It will txt you if the alarm goes off, or battery gets low etc. It has a backup battery built into it so even if the car battery is disconnected ...

There was a thing on Fair Go about these kind of tickets a little while back. Basically the councils said that if you got the WOF and wrote in to them then they would let you off it.

I have a short wheel base TT manual 300zx and I have to say they are neat cars. They can be very fast and handle very well. They can look great. The VG30DETT will make big power with minimal work. Just a chip from a guy on the nz 300zx forum and some more boost will get you around 300rwkw reliably ...

Got to remember that you don't put crude oil in your car.... Just because the oil price is the same as some historical date doesn't mean the price of the refined products will be the same. Refining margins will depend on the supply and demand of fuels, global refining capacity, plant shutdowns etc ...

Unlike most other materials rubber will shrink when as it heats up.

A 'fun' experiemnt at home that demonstrates this is to hang a small weight on the end of a rubber band then heat it with a hair dryer. The
length of the rubber band will decrease and the weight will go up.

The kilowatt hours of your battery will determin the range, not KW of the motor or battery. (we are talking energy vs power) KW of the motor will determin how fast you get there.

If you have say a 3.7V, 3.5Ah Lipo cell you get 12.95 watt hours. To get a reasonable 25KWh's you would need about ...

in my opinion fuel bubble will burst sooner or later, as there is no shortage of oil at all, and like diamonds the price on fuel is highly inflated unlike diamonds we can't live without oil. And unfortunately huge profits are not used to invest into newer technologies but instead used to build ...

Lipo are used in laptops and phones now, hopefully we see the price come down.
Cost is not the only probelm, there are inherent safety issues with using LiPo cells, they tend to burst into flames if not charged correctly and currently have a much lower max charge and discharge rate the NiCd or ...

Current crude oil price is high due to availabilty of spare crude production capicity but it is also driven by refining capicity. Also refining margins are extreemly high at the moment which doesn't help pump prices.

To explain how refining capicity effects crude prices i'm going to steal this ...

Personally I think electic is the way to go also. The latest electric motors are really efficient. We just need energy storage technology to catch up. I was pricing up Lipo batteries to convert an MX5 to electric = atleast 10K of batteries for a 200Km range.

That's because 1) it is not mass ...

Right at this moment it's not so much that fossil fuels which are readily available are being held to ransom as that there is actually a world shortage of refining capacity. Specially for diesel and jetfuel.

To retain a decent range you need a very highly compressed double skinned incredibly strong (and thus reasonably heavy and awkward shaped) pressure vessel. To fill that tank you need a bloody big compressor, requiring pretty significant energy in itself.
Actually that's not true, you don't need to ...

Thanks, I know most of the various common solutions peope have found for this. What I'm wanting to know is if there is any one out there who can make up the bracket you have described which the PS pump slides on, letting you tension the belt in a similar manner to the alternator.
