Re: Long shifter cables or extending cables

Cable is perfect thickness for m6(iirc) sleeve, so cut as neccessary and rejoin the plastic sleeve nicely and attach threaded sleeve at end

Re: 3sgte hesitation

Check wastegate if it has a hole in the diaphragm, like spray wd40 and blow air into nipple, and see if it blows out the other side where the actuator arm comes out of. You might be hitting boost cut and that wastegate actuator is common to tear apart

Re: Shifter Cables

Yeah I just did this today. Bearing shops here wanted around $30 each for a spherical bearing and none of them offered the PTFE coated (teflon) type, so would require periodic lubing. I ended up importing 10 from overseas, so if you want a pair just hit me up. Can do two for $40.

Re: Man-maths moment [97 MR2 turbo swap]

I've actually test driven the blue 2gr beast while I was down in palmy. One hell of a job the builder's done to get it in so nice and tight. I am not saying it runs crap, because it runs okay. However I feel that in this case.. getting it in and running right is one thing. But getting the 2gr in and ...

Re: DOES ANYONE ON/NEAR THE SHORE HAPPEN TO HAVE A SCAN TOOL

Yeap we'll be able to check it if the car is covered under the campaign - which I'm pretty sure it will be.
If it's somehow not covered for some reason that I cannot think of, those pumps don't look to be THAT expensive. It'll definitely be cheaper than cooking your inverter away :D

Re: Strange warning light on jap import hiace 3L D4-D

If the oil you used is not low ash, you're going to get diesel fuel getting into the oil, making the oil level rise. 5W-30 grade does not necessarily mean it is correct for the vehicle.
The reason for that light being so sensitive on jap import kd diesels is because they run dpf filters.
I would be ...

Why plasti dip ?

I recently did a set of wheels on my legacy and eneded up going for ColourPak 1K Base and Clear Lacquer

Cost about $150 all up for everything (sandpaper, solvent degreaser, scotch brites, tape, masking cards, 2 cans base, 2 cans laquer, 1 primer.)

Super pleased with the results ...

I had a 1jz that blew oil past the o-ring between the oil pump housing and the block.

Couldn't find the origins of the leak (and it was literally pissing out when it happened, under body covered full of oil etc), and yet I couldn't find the leak when I removed the covers.
Looked very similar to ...

They are noisy, full stop. Just blocked out inside the car when driving. Even brand new cars would be noisy if chucked on a hoist and ran through the gears 8)

Get an engineer to machine you some on the lathe? 60mm or something diameter inner hole with a 73mm lip to support wheel and drill 5x 114.3 pcd plate with 5mm thickness? Then get some longer studs and be done.

Planetary gearsets inside auto boxes are not designed to withstand shock either. From neutral to drive, in full power...

Why not use a high stall torque converter? Would be similar to launching.
