The stock ECU plugs are not designed for repeated connection/disconnection and it is an expensive proposition to have to replace the connector on the ECU. That said however, the high pin count mil-spec socket/plugs are not cheap either.

Im talking on the few times the car goes out IF i park it somewhere im going to be away and want to have added protection it wont go walkies i can get away with it without the hassle of needing laptop to re flash the map onto the ecu kinda thing.
Peace of mind that if i feel i SHOULD or HAVE to.. i can..
