suitable radiator for a 4age

Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Fri Oct 29, 2004 9:01 pm

what would be the best sort of radiator to use with my 4age (in a ke35 if that matters)? will a standard radiator from a 3k be OK? ive been told both yes and no :?
ive also been told to use a 3 core radiator as opposed to a 2 core radiator (which is what the one of the 3K is)...

cheers

The standard 4age radiator is quite small and only single core.
It looks exactly the same as ones you find in a 3a powered car.
This is based on my AA63 4age Carina and 2 AA60 3A Carinas.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

Your 3k radiator will work well but your plumbing might be easier if you get one with the pipes on the correct side. :)

Factory 4AGE Radiator works fine for high Hp 4AGE's. :D

Avoid an Auto radiator.
I think that small difference in internal capacity makes my 4A a little tempermental with temp... See if I turn my heater to hot then I never overheat, turn it to cold, start overheating if I drive long enough...

Just a theory...

Hmmm my auto radiator is exactly the same as a manual which is the same as most single core ae86 ones. Maybe your problem is something else?

thanks for the response. the plumbing isnt a problem, as i can get someone to change it around without any trouble. may have found a bigger radiator which will do the job now anyway.
