hmm, maybe the dyno was compeltly munted? Dunno, ill take someone in PN for a drive next meet, cause it feels like its got a shit load of power.

Does the gear ratio affect the power readout? Cause I saw he took all of 3 secs to set that part up.

fivebob wrote:How can something that relies on force to swing a flap open be a volumetric device? Take it to the extremes , if the flow is at near total vacuum what happens to the deflection? if you use a very dense liquid what happens to the deflection?

The fact that it works when used under pressure should tell you it's a mass flow device, otherwise it would make the engine way too lean if it only measured volume :?

I still believe they are a air flow only device, not an air mass device as they have no provision for air density.

If they are post turbo, they still have pressure on both sides of the flap,
and the dampening chamber is not sealed so there will be pressure in there as well, and it will only be measuing air volume.

the reason they still work under pressure is because if there is 12psi in there, the engine will have 12psi in the inlet and so will flow more air than at atmospheric pressure.

The ECU may calculate mass by volume and temperature though.

A Hot wire air Mass meter use's current required to keep the wire at a set temperature as it signal, so is affected by volume and density.

thats real good power, i mean, check out on garage dori, theres a dyno graph of someones, who ran the same setup on bluetop, but with a link ecu, at 11.7psi, running 115kw atw, so 111kw, on a small turbo, on stock ecu, on lower comp, is good, id be stoked with that, its exactly what you would have expected, and thats a good 200hp at the crank, MEAN!

considering on mine, without external or extra injector, low comp, quite a small t3, std computer. i got 125kw atw on 10psi. running at 10.5:1 a/f, if i made it a bit leaner, i think maybe i could get just over 130.

just as a comparison.

Are you guys forgetting that the dyno topped out at 6krpm? if it's a levin/trueno like in his avatar, and it's on a silver/blacktop (or even a GZE?) there's still more left in it.
GZE's redline at 7krpm? and 20v's red at ~8krpm?
