4age ROD question

Postby lucasthefallen » Fri May 30, 2008 6:13 pm

ok, im currently rebuilding a 4agze 16v ( afm model from a aw11 ). i've got the thing apart, and just having a quick look at the rods, they seem to be quite beefy. i have some silvertop 20v ones, but i havent compared side to side yet. are they any difference's? is it worth swapping the silvertop ones in? will only be running 14psi via supercharger ( pulley kit etc )

any info appreciated.

The silver top ones are smaller, but I'm not sure what the strength differences would be.

Both are fine for fairly good power, so I wouldn't worry about it, just use the better condition ones.

Blacktop rods have an unusually high failure rate.
