yes am interested also, how is progress??

Oh also as for the issue of the distributor rotating the other way all you have to do is reverse your firing order to suit surely?

No, and yes.

No because there is no mechanical advance in the dist so the teeth and sensors will still always line up,

and yes because the sensor is rotating the other way the a/c wave made will be backwards, so the trigger point that the ECU uses as it's firing point will vary with revs.

Kinda hard to explain, but if you played with magnetic sensors and link ECU's you may understand.

mmm, Ive been playing round with nissan dizzy's for the mini for too long, forgot the 4age one lacks mechanical advance.
With the reversed ac wave, the standard ecu would not function correctly wouldnt it?

it should still work, but may advance or retard by a few degree's at higher rpm's.

what does a backwards sine wave look like anyway?

like a sine wave, but backwards, lol.

Basically,
if the first half is below 0 and the second half is above,

when backwards its first half above and second below.
Draw one and look at it in the mirror,

can you use a capacitor to shift phase angle 180 degrees?

????????, dont know what you mean, but no, I doubt it.

It's not really worth worrying about.

i run a mircotech on my honda they programed it to run honda sensors but mitsi ignition as i now run wasted spark with a mitsi crank angle sensor

it does make a difference if it spins backwards i have that problem with my honda and the mitsi dizzy i have to modifiy the guts of it

when you put a capacitor in series in an AC circuit it can lead/lag the AC signal depending on the rating of the capacitor depends on the angle of phase shift.. imagine a sine wave leading by 90* it would the look like cosine wave so if you can get 180 deg phase shift the sine wave would be reversed to what it should be.. in theory

Its not the running backwards thats causing you problems. Its the falling trigger. Honda's not only run backwards, they trigger backwards.
