right. stop driving it or you will need a new engine.

my advice is to book it in for repair. at the same time ask about a loan car.

well your other option is to keep driving it.
which is likely to result in it dying, possibly making you late to work.
and costing you a lot more for a new engine.....

Maybe you should ring the service dept or do the work yourself and save 80% of the cost.

dont have the equipment and knowledge or space or time. if i had all that, sure. i can change filters and that sorta stuff but when it comes to headgaskets, it's bit over complicated. working in retail and coming close to christmas, i am rostered for crazy hrs. dont have another car to use either.

As warwick has already said. Enquire about a loan car when you ring up.

ride a bike if you dont have money to get it fixed.

ride your bike to a garage or anywhere, and ask for a price to check and fix it. some will offer hire purchase etc

lolol, I don't think you're desperate enough to get your car fixed.

Just let the man do his thing, he'll soon learn it the Akane (hard) way.

HRT wrote:Thats not a leakdown test at all. Leakdown test is where you get the cylinder you are checking to exactly TDC and use a leakdown tester to put compressed air into the cylinder and measure the amount of leakage of the air. Typically about 10% past the rings. If it is higher then there is a likely leak.

Can use the test for burnt valve, damaged pistons/rings, blow head gasket etc. If you hear air escaping from the exhaust pipe then its an exhaust valve issue, something in the inlet then its inlet valve, excessive air out the filler cap then something with pistons/rings and if you have bubbles coming through the radiator then its likely a blow head gasket.

I always thought that was the "compressed air / compressed cylinder test", I stand corrected, thanks for the updated info.

no you were right leakdown test is with oil & for rings cylinder leakage test is what HRT is talking about with the compresser ect..
