a mate took my boot seal(kp61 starlet) off today to inspect for rust... and i noticed later that day when it started raining that it was leaking quite badly... from inside it looks like its leaking from between the rubber seal and the metal lip it slots on to... ive never noticed it leaking before.

is it possible or probable that in taking the seal off my friend might have buggered it somehow? if so where can i get a new seal from? is there meant to be some adhesive between the seal and the metal lip?

all help appreciated

I'd be pretty surprised if it was leaking through there. More likely when you guys put it back on you put it at a slightly different position than before and being old the rubber has moulded in the boot shape, hence there may be a low area/gap.

yep, new seal should make it better than its ever been. Im not to sure where to get one thou sorry

Try putting vaseline on the seal, it should soften the rubber so you get a better seal.
