Help!!!!! My car doesnt run properly :(

Postby starlet » Wed Jul 14, 2004 10:13 pm

Hey

well after replacing head gasket, fitting 2nd hand head with new valve seats and valve guides seals etc. My car wont run properly

Basically it starts and run at about 2000rpm when u hold throttle open that far, revs 2 rev limiter, but anything below sorta 2000rpm it wants to die and wont idle.

it sounds like it is running on about 2-3 cylinders but im unsure, is fuken gutless when trying to drive.

So any ideas to try? basically ive checked cam timing is ok, disi is in correct place on cam, plug leads r on correctly, plugs r gud (im preety sure), Coil and ignitor is good, disi is good, disi cap and rotor are good, fuel is at fuel rail but unsure how to check if its at each individual injector. Fuel is good fresh stuff.

Havent check compression yet but will do on the weekend.

So yea any ideas?

Engine is 2e telu.

You could try some injector cleaner. About $12 for a bottle (use 1/3 per tank of gas) from Repco.
Inaccurate spray could bugger things up terribly :(
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

IT AIN'T A 4AGE.

Are those engines air flow metered, perhaps you have a vacumm leak or if it is a/f then a hose off between the a/f and throttle body or failing that check your cam timing again
