my mate just brought a 198x KP starlet Si. Its gotta 4K-EU. Id seen pictures of an injected 4k but not in person. He claimed the tappets were a mile out, which could of been the case coz it was gutless, and LOUD tappet noise. He asked me diagnose, and fix the prob (for a price ov course) so i jumped at the chance, to work on a 4k-eu for the first time.
Anyway, his old lady took them to a mechanic for a check, and he claimed it was WAS the tappets, and was not an easy job as we had predicted. (coz k series tappets are piece 'o' cake)
he claimed that COZ IT WAS INJECTED...it had hydrolic tappets..?
its still the old side cam, pushrodder, with rocker arm, but i dont know why being fuel injected, it has to have hydrolic tappets? anyone worked on one before?
