Get some Simple Green, coat your engine bay and hose off, finish by detailing with some silicon spray (not recomended) or tyre shine (good stuff, eg meguires gel)

Buy some 'paint on' type tyre shine, and paint over all old trim for a ncie new black look.

Buy some black spray paint, and do some detailing that most people dont bother with, but can make a big difference. Eg, remove wheels, clean wheel wells, and paint them black. Paint brake calipers/drums black. Paint struts black (unless they're already good looking aftermarket ones, obviously).

New windscreen wipers.

Polish headlights (plastic polish, or even better metal polish)

Buy a pastry brush, and use it to detail the interior. It works wonders getting all that dust out of the air vents, and other hard to work places

i took off my mug flaps.. makes the car look a little better :)

if ur real bored, go to warehouse and get a amp kit and wire up your car to fit an amp one day... (you learn quite a bit, if u havent done that sort of thing before)

yea, perhaps detail the interior plastic bits a different colour...

i like the make your own short shifter idea.. been wanting to do that for a while.. just need a tool to rethread the stick when i do it...

buy tint and tint ur car

Paint eyelids on your front lights.

if your looking for the manurewa / scummy rotorua look, put ur mums (or sisters) panty hose over your rear lights....

relocate your number plate for "better air flow to the radiator"

Debadge your car

cant think of any more...
cheers

hahahahahahah quite a few inetresting points there, but theres a few things i must correct.

NEVER wash ur car with HOT water, cold and soapy is the best, hot strips of the wax.

like dr-x said doing inside ur gaurds is a good one, just get some satin-black paint, and do in there,

if u are giving ur car a less thorough wash:

startw ith spraying the wheels with degreaser, (or so acid wheel cleaner if ur mags are NOT painted), give it a brush round, then waterblast off, while there waterblast under the gaurds ( mayb spray under there with degreaser as well),

despite wat people say it is totally cool to spray under your hood with degreaser, and then water blast off, just be a bit carefull round the dizzy and fuse box, ( ie dont pointw ater directly at it) then spray siocone everywhere and wipe off.

when u wash your car, always wet it first, then suds and rub, then hose off, then chamois. when u chamois, open up the doors and do down the door jams as well.

wax, is wax, the shine depends on how much polish u put underneath and much wax u put on top,

any kind of moulding will come up very good, weith nething silcone, try getting a rag, soaking it with silocone then rubbing it in, then wipe off with a clean rag

that goes for doing ur interior as well, dont use those wipes they are crap, get some good v and r (vynal and rubber cleaner) soak it in a rag, then wipe the dash over with it, once again nething silcone based is good.

thats ll itcan think of that uc an do at home without teh stuff i have at work, but if u have any car care questions pm me cos i am a car groomer

I dont know if anyone has mentioned this already but anyway

BUY SOME MOTOR UP or X1R!!!, IT WORKS!!

its fairly cheap and you notice quite a power gain straight away.
I was amazed when I put some in my ae92, it was actually quite cool.

I think it loses its effect over a longer period of time
but it is an instant power up.

I didnt try any of the fuel system cleaner or anything like that, but i would imagine if you used all the products it would be sweet as a nut.

Yeah it does close up, but I had more than 1 person ask me about it - from a distance it looked cool, but if you looked closely you could see it was crud.
