Ke30 4agTe conversion

Postby kp_drifta » Sun Oct 17, 2004 4:45 pm

hey guys,

well heres the plan, i purchase a $&#$% FX-GT off trademe and have gone about removing the engine over hte weekend which i intend to clean up and strengthen using gZe internals etc, i know this conversion must be quite a common one but anyway i have a few questions. Firstly does anyone have a vacum line diagram of sum sort or know of which vaccum lines r unnessicary, meaning such things as air conditioning and stuff like that. will i need to make any mods to the cooling system from what i can see its a bit of a mess. Also is there anyway to get around buying a RWD inlet manufold and stick with the FWD one to save a bit of money, im not too sure about engine mounts yet as i am still looking out for a ke30 shell ( if anyones got one let me know) as for the gearbox i was thinking of using a celica quick-shift box does anyone know how strong these boxex are, anyway any information would be much appriciated

cheers,
sam

The only vacuum lines that you need are one for TVIS and one for the fuel pressure reg. All others can be blocked.

For the manifold you can get the fwd one cut and shut, but from what ive heard it wont flow as well as a genuine rwd item. There are a few people on here that can do it for you, try nite b or actiondan.

alrite cheers man, so the only line needed for the engine are the TVIS fuel pressure regulator, do you know where the fuel pressure regulator line goes to on the manufold, i spose with the manufold theres a chance that i may have room to leave it how it is and just have larger inlet piping?

thats your idle control valve, these are well known for failing in 4age's.
Its just a wax-stat that controls axcillary air past the throttle butterfly, depending on cooolant temp. (there should be two coolant pipes attached)

heh.....
if you're serious about running big power, and want to really give your car death then get a Nite Parts Wbox bellhousing....... these will allow you to run a big clutch, and you really can't kill a W box....... I've been trying real hard, so has drifter4ag.....

otherwise..... 4age turbo is hard to beat..
