Which bulbs for which car?

Postby UTERUS » Fri Oct 22, 2004 3:17 pm

I have an 88 hilux and i was wondering what headlight bulbs they take.

Also while im at it, what headlight/spotlight bulbs do other toyotas take?

Cheers,
Simon
It is a myth that emos are contagious, and you may be infected. However, it is still widely accepted to wash your hands after physical contact

Mine takes the standard 3 pin coniguration. 12v, P43T.

Not to sure what the hilux takes. But most cars take this type in their headlight.

My old mans 1994 Hilux takes these as well.

I could be wrong but dont hilux's of that era take a 2BX sealed beam??? I may have been converted to semi sealed, in which case it would take an H4 bulb.

theres not such thing as "standard 3 pin configuration"

Many ancient cars incl older toyota vans use sealed beam as suggested. Many older cars use H4 bulbs. Many newer toyotas seem to use H7's and H3 for spotlights - altho this does vary as ST20# celicas take HB4 for example and others utilise H1, H3 and all sorts of other configurtions.

Yep the hilux will use 2bx sealed beam units. You can get crystal (bling bling) ones fro Braxton lights or any repco/appco. They're semi sealed to so you can put blue/white H4 bulbs in them to give it that euro look.

And as for there being a standard 3 pin configuration. YES there is. It is a H4 bulb. Which most car still use. If you went into a parts shop and asked for a standard head light buld thats what they would give you.
