When she says cheap how much is she talking?

We have one in stock but it is our last one, will sell for the right price as we are not in a hurry to part with it.

Email me if interested.

well to be honest. im not strong on turbo's.

she doesn't want aftermarket, she hasn't got much of a budget either.

to be honest i don't know why she owns a gt starlet to begin with,

but hey.

im not sure how much she is wanting to pay for it at the moment.

i guess were looking at offers, and seeing what's cheapest.

for a stock turbo.

How exactly is it "blown" ?
Can it be rebuilt? Might be the best long term sollution, and if you can take it off and put it back on it should save a few $$ instead of putting a second hand one on and having that f*cking out on you too.

Rebuilds can be relatively cheap if its only seals and bearings that have gone and there isn't any damage to the wheels or housings. That and you have the added benefit of knowing its going to last a fair while instead of a second hand unit which may fubar itself in a short period of time.

That too. I have had 3 turbos on mine now, original one started smoking, so found a second hand one that a turbo company checked out for me b4 I bought it and it $&#$% out pretty quick. Now I have an uprated one and its perfect, and I know its going to last the distance.

Having said that, we sent one away for a rebuild and had to send up a further 3 units to make one good unit as they couldnt rebuild the one we sent. Cant get some of the parts for the ct9's anymore so thats a risk you have to take also when you go for a rebuild. If you go for a rebuild, we have the seal kits in stock that are required for the rebuild.

I paid $300 for my rebuild, dude threw in another exhaust housing, as mine was cracked around where the wastegate slams shut. Got new bearings and seals, did an excellent job, took overnight. He also offered to throw in a bigger comp wheel for another $30, but my turb is already laggy enough! :D

I only went to him because he had the fastest turnaround, places like Turbo Tech, Turbo Reconditioners quoted me the same job for $350-$450, not including the new exhaust housing, or comp wheel upgrade, as I believe they are substantially more expensive. So, at a max, I'd say you'd be paying $400 tops for new seals.

On a side note, turbo's are getting damn expensive for secondhand units! I was quoted $695 for a rebuilt T25 when I had my 180sx, mate got a quote for the same car the other week for $895! Hmm.... :?

i would imagine it to be something like bearings then.

whats the average price fora rebuild?

ball park figure?

Good luck if its the bearing sub assembly thats gone. They are like hens teeth to find for the CT9's.

ok had a phone call today.

she seems to think its not the bearings, its the whole thing,

and she reckons you can pull any turbo off a glanza and chuck it in.

and she has a mate of a mate finding one,

so i'll just leave her to it, and my job here is done.

thanks for all the help guys!
