Redtop 4age oil pressure

Postby KwS » Thu Jan 20, 2005 11:34 pm

Yello.

Mates for an AE92 levin. Redtop 4age.

Just a quick question, what is the normal range for the oil pressure to read on the oil press gauge at like 600-700rpm (idle)? at the moment it reads like quater on the guage. Is that normal or is something wrong?

Is the car hot or cold? I would be a tad bit worried if it was cold and that low. Does it go up when driving? As that is more important than idle pressure.

Well, thats not too bad then, my redtop sat at about 1/3 on idle when warmed up, and that was a fresh motor. What does the gauge sit at when the engine is cold? That might be a better indication of whether some thing is wrong or not.

That doesn't really sound good to me, i think the problem is the sender unit located on the left side of the block, under the power steering pump.
Over time they start to give inaccurate readings, mine had a similar problem, so i replaced it with a brand spanker, reads good now.
