Tried to bablefish this one. However there wasn't an Idiot to English translation.
I gather from the text it has something to do with VVT actuation?

well, it appears the chap is saying his friend, with an ae101 levin / trueno, dropped it down to (4th?) from (5th?) gear.... and broke his vvt pully.

ok, so many things wrong with what you said

A) the Trueno and Levin gearsets can pull 180ish in 4th gear... so *dropping down* a gear, is useless.. even 3rd pulls to around 140-150ish. i doubt he could accidently drop it down to 3rd.... not at that speed. So im assuming here, he went from 5th to 4th.. which is what you would do if passing someone at that sort of speed...

alas

B) that couldnt damage the pull at all... unless you hit excess rpm.. to somehow damage the cam gear setup... which i doubt, youd dick the rest of your engine before a pully got destroyed. how many engines break the crank angle sensor before they damage something else? - and i know its not a Crank angle sensor, but effectly it is attached to the same thing.... all im saying is what rpm would be required before a vvt pully would nuke itself? im thinking 20,000+ rpm? go chuck one on an F1 car and find out when it *fails*.

C) if its stuffed, it will be locked into one location, if its on its way out, it will click.... still work but click... and only get louder until she brakes.... in which you replace it...

so um, wants excactly the problem?

I used to be able to jam my Prelude into third when sitting on cut-out, it got a bit mad. So it could well be he dropped it into third.

i know they do that the ae111's but do YOU own an ae101? they also rev 500 rpm lower which lowers their top speed in each gear. so meh. who cares

my point being, he could probbaly drop it down 1-2 gears and still be able to keep the engine alive >.>

Dont forget 91-91 20v's have the C52 with slightly longer ratio on two of the gears.

when they ran c52's, yes, preface lift
3rd and 4th gear shifted closer to 2nd, 1st, 2nd, 5th same as c52

acesnipers is a facelift running a c56 so 160kph at 9000 for him
however mine has a c52
so in third at 8200rpm is 160 and 175-180kph at 9800 (rev limit on link set 10,000 and to busy at that speed to accuratly look at speedo while cornering)
you'll also find a 101 will limit higher than a blacktop, around 8300 for silvetop and 8000 for blacktop
