How would you rate the ride quality with Dobis', as compared to Kings etc?

If you're asking me, I have no way of comparing them. I had king superlows in my 82 Celica XX, but it wasn't very low. From memory the ride was still pretty comfortable (14" wheels) - but this was 10 years ago.
The caldina sure is pretty bumpy with these springs (dobi's I'm guessing), and will probably get a bit harsher with the 18s on it.

My little bro has Dobi super lows in his 92 Laser TX3, real good springs in my opinion, gave it an even 50mm drop (which is v. rare! - esp in Fr engine car) and the ride is very good, pretty firm but not harsh at all. Doesnt handle that well but thats to be expected with any SL springs i suppose

3mm difference is not worth worrying about, you could always shim it up 3mm if you wanted to. Else you could piss round moving stuff & trying to put some of the weight from that corner onto the other side to help even it out, but yeah wouldn't be worried about 3mm.

Hmm.. just measured again cos it still looks off.
From the top of the rim to the guard it's a 4mm difference.
From the ground to the bottom of the kit in front of the wheel it's a 15mm difference.. grrr.
Maybe I will try swapping the springs over afterall.

Just FYI - AFAIK, Dobi, Lovells, etc dont do super lows. "Super low" is a kings brand. Some other brands may do different height springs, but they're not "Super lows".

It depends on the particular car. On one dobis are shit and kings are reasonable on another dobis are way better. You cant just compare the brands

If you are only after a change of 3mm, go to a wreckers and find a rubber spring seat thats slightly thicker ( if you are using them).
Otherwise put a piece of rubber tube over one end of the spring, this can sometimes be done in place with a spring compressor without removing the strut. Also check what you are measuring off. Your front guards could be 3mm different
If it doesn't fit, force it.
If it breaks it needed replacing anyway!
