4efe 4efte differences

Postby MacrosSiR » Sun Feb 13, 2005 11:17 am

Hey guys, my girl has a 1997 Corolla 2 lime 4efe. Just wanting to research how easy it would be to turbocharge.

How much of an internal difference is it between the 4efe and the 4efte. Just the pistons? Or will connecting rods and other bits need to go?
Would be using the standard startlet turbo and intercooler.

Guys in oz run turbo setups on internally stock 4efe's with GOOD TUNES. As long as your conservative with boost I'd expect you not to have any reliability problems.

What if I wanted to use the standard 4efte turbo kit and ecu?

Should be fine as long you stick under 13psi.

is it possible to do the same as this but with a 5efe 1500 as the base to start with? what would be needed to swap over? obviously the ecu, turbo and exhaust side, but what about the inlet side? injectors, manifold, throttle body, etc. would these need to be swapped as well?

Injectors yes, rest no. You are dealing with higher compression so it may pay to knock the timing back a bit if your using the stock ecu.

Does anyone know how high the compression is on the 4efe?

Try gettin a hold of gtpornstar, think he's got something like that running in his starlet. You'll definitely need to keep the boost way down, and duno what ecu you'll use for it either without going aftermarket...
