i changed a bulb on in one of the fogs on my 91. Its not that hard providing the screws are not rusted to buggery.

I was lucky, and once you get the light off the car it is obvious how to pull them apart.

/edit/
*reads post properly*
theres no screws on them.....

There are two recessed screws, on the top of the light as you look at it from the front.

Aren't the Xenon ones like super expensive too?
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

does anybody know how it works? ie: how do the foglights know which way you are steering?

There is actually a standalone computer just for the moving foglamps, it's down in the front RH corner of the front boot. It gets inputs from the power steer sensors on the steering column. It's also worth noting that only the porky luxo barge models (GT mainly) appear to have this feature. The several GT-S's that I've owned have had fixed foglamps.

my old G-Limited had them.

Porky? AFAIK the 92 model year hardtop GT is only 20kg heavier than the GT-S?

hmm, short shifter kit do you mean revhead?

Its got an aiight shift now, not to hard to get used to at all, she wont be doing any SUPER quick shifting anyhow, plenty of torque to make up for a slow shift.

Do need new gear knob... dont want a big high trd one, just a short stubbie one like stock mr2's have... and gearboot if you got one :) i dont wanna pay $500.50 for one :D

hehe, 'porky luxo barge'. :)

Since my MR2 is the bare basics model (Not even a G limited - its a G!)
I dont have any of that fancy nonsense. :P

Last time I weighed my car (when it was considerably more laden down with unnecessary bits eg. Aircon 8) ) my car weighed in at 1250 with me in it.

so 1250 less 80 kgs = 1170 with half a tank of gas.

Thats with aircon still attached, spare tyre etc, when I first got the car.

Ive ditched a few various bits and peices since then, I mean who needs fancy luxury items like a boot spring? Or a motorised radio aerial?

P.S. The gen I/II spoiler (the three piece one) weighs TWICE as much as a gen III spoiler 8O (6kgs and 3kgs)

I will presume that you are talking about the suspension :? :P

Well my suspension is considerably harder than stock, and a little lower.
I quickly discovered where pretty much every pot hole in West Auckland is within a month of getting it. :)

Nah, I still have power steering, power windows and power mirrors.
I also got the premium sound system in it aswell.

I would imagine that some of these features would be optional on the 'g', while standard on the 'g limited'.

IIRC, the lightest factory available SW20 would be the aussie build 'bathurst edition'.
It comes with no power steering, no power windows, no power mirrors, hard top roof, and the stereo is optional. 8O
They also came with a slightly retuned 3SGE, which was a bit more grunty.
It would be interesting to find out how much one of those weighs!

Yeh, your missing the best point though....

Turbo :), it makes up for the weight it uses.

Ermm.... Yes... I want my *suspension* harder...

The old turbo argument.... Whatever you choose! Personaly, I don't really like turbo power. I can appreciate it. I know its powerful, I just don't prefer the method. It's over done. It's too simple (As in people just say "get a turbo au!"). I think I may try S/C'ing a 3SGE one day. Something a bit more original.

However, for now I'll stick with N/A. It's fun to drive, has much more power than my old Sunny did (Read: 3 x as much hehe) and handles well.
Not to mention, I'm under 25 and don't want to pay stupidly high insurance rates as well as more gas usage. It's more of a financially responsable state of mind. ;)

yeh, im just being an arse :). Wouldnt mind a BEAMS Mr2.... Damn that would be fun... Ringing the shit outta it through the corners :). BUT! we got a turbo one, so we dont realy have much choice :). *Oh dang*

Petrol... its aiight, in 4 hours of me doing my usual arse thing, it used just under quarter of a tanc... this isnt bad, considering how much boost was flowing through its lungs.

and im told (i think al said this in the mr2 forums), that the bov has a bipass valve when not on boost... So the engine sucks air directly from the airbox, and NOT through the turbocharger. less vac = more power = more torque = less use of throttle = use less fuel! lol

Insurance, this is where my nickers get twisty. Corina is paying $1100 a year... for full cover, with state... thats $91 a month people.

damnit i pay that on my damn 20v... I think im gonna go hunting for a diff insurance company. btw shes on her full for 2 years, 19... 1 accident (stupid blind corner with stupid civic on other side who sits in middle of road)

In an identical car I get ~30km less per tank with my modified Gen3 3SGTE over the Gen3 NA. Which really isn't too bad considering!
