* All new boost control with two modes of operation.
“Simple” uses fixed duty cycle with dash adjustment knob
“Advanced” for full ballistic control

I thought that all V3's had the ability to run boost control.

My ECU is definatly a V3 anyway.

I run the link boost control because it helps it spool better than the old manual bleed tap did as I run so much higher than wastegate pressure.

I took me a very long time to get it set up and it is neither relaible or consistant and constantly needs adjustment.
It has a boost spike when it comes on boost which can be anywhere between 3 to 7 psi depending on..... the weather???

I run between 18 to 20 psi and boost cut is about 23 psi and it will often hit the boost cut which is why i have to turn off the limiter at times.

In saying all this I believe the V4 onwards and linkplus's all have the better form of boost control that has a lot better control and more adjustments.

I'll let you know as I have just bought a linkplus and will be fitting it in soon in aid to fix boost control problems among other things.

The setting mine has are
Wastegate RPM = which I think is the revs it starts trying to control the boost
Wastegase base = which is a start figure
Wastegate sensitivity = the sensitivity of the system.

In my mind the sensitivity needs more adjustment as I have a setting of 5.
At 6 it waves between 10 psi and 30psi,
and at 4 it is so slow to make boost that the boost gauge goes up as fast as the fuel gauge goes down! (nearly)

What else can I tell you.??

thats cool, as far as i know my v3 can controll boost but its not the actual LEM itself that does the controlling, ill have to run a ??subaru boost solinoid?? and the LEM just activates it...... Ill sort it out when i get it fine tuned on the Dyno, cheers for ur help.

yes you need a solenoid, it needs some form of conection to the system,

just like the link cant control fuel injection unles you have a fuel injector (or 2 or 4) fitted

If you want good boost control you will need to go to V5, I helped with the development of it with Link.

Basically it works perfect,
In Simple Mode, it runs just like a bleed valve, it supplys a duty cycle that is constant eg. 45% may give 15psi. Its that simple, although just like a bleed valve the higher you go in the revs boost will drop a little.

In Advanced Mode, it takes a little more to setup though still very simple, you set a target say 15psi (205kpa), then you set a start duty cycle which may give you 13-14, then you set sensitivity which is how fast the link controls itself trying to keep the boost at the boost target. It works perfect keeping the boost at whatever you set the target at untill the limiter.

Also the new V5 has an adjustable boost knob function, that if you have it turned all the way on it will go to the boost target you have set, and then it is totally variable in between right down to wastgate pressure.

You can upgrade your V3 to V5 which will ahve the new boost control plus 8 rows of mapping over 6 on V3, but you wont be able to use the boost knob as the new V5 has another plug that is required for that.

If you getting your car tunned you should upgrade before you get it done.

If you want it upgraded let me know and ill check on a price for you.

cool, yes i will be upgrading to V5 but not for a lil bit as i need to get the car running basically first.
cheers
