bluetop 4age searching

Postby DXTACY » Mon Apr 25, 2005 2:36 pm

hey guys i have got my bluetop 4age runing and it warms up sweet but then when cold start is off it searches like it has an air leak

i have put new air lines on the whole engine with no succesion

took inlet piping off and checked air bypass valve, completely covered it and engine idles extreemly low but doesnt search half covered it and engine idles normal and doesnt search then with it fully uncovered it searches and makes the mega suction noise, compared noise to my mates redtop and his isnt as noisy?

could the air bypass be buggered?

any suggestions?

cheers

Probably, its a common problem. and new ones arent cheap.
The valve has some sort of wax pellet in it which will be damaged if it gets too hot.

I vote some one writes a FAQ on this issue as it is quite common

What sort of intake do you have? Mine make quite a loud hissing when cold, and yes its the bypass valve. Theres nothing wron with mine but it is alot more noticable with the pod setup I have.

As long as it gets quieter as the engine warms up and the idle drops, it will be ok.
