3A-U and 3A-LU...differences?

Postby NZcelica » Mon Jun 20, 2005 12:04 pm

Is there any difference between the head of a 3A-U and a 3A-LU?
The toyota codes index says the L stands for transverse mounted engine.

I need to bolt a 3A-U head onto one thats currently got a 3A-LU

as far as i'm aware there shouldn't be an issue.

although,a 3A-U engine won't bolt into a transverse bay due to the front (behind timing cover) engine mount bosses not being drilled and tapped .
I've been a bad bad boy. I should read the rules and behave before I get spanked by an admin

f#@k you i won't do what ya tell me

Be careful once you get it running man. Those 3a's tend to get away on you when your not concentrating. Mad Powa.

3A-U is the Rangi version.... AU!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

l is an outdated motor code for front wheel drive,
if youre putting a rear wheel 3a into a front wheel drive i think the water exits are different and water pump.
My sister can do a better standy!!!

3a-lu makes a better anchor than the 3a-u.
Based on personal experience.
I have a spare one if you want it - a bit smokey but runs fine.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!
