Caldina GT-T questions

Postby Toxic » Sun Jul 03, 2005 2:55 pm

Gidday guys.

I have just bought myself a Caldina GT-T 1998 and was looking at doing a few mods.

Unfortunatly the day i bought it the turbo crapped out on me, got it checked and apparently the seals had gone and leaked oil into the turbo, which my mechanical warranty didnt cover.

Anyway, was wondering what would i be best doing in terms of lowering my car. I have been told that i can either compress the springs for around $140 and shorten the shocks, or i can get professional lowering springs.

What does a professional lowered spring do that compressing doesnt do?

if you bought it from a retailer i belive that they would have to cover the turbo under the consumers ganreentee act

tell me more about what this consumers guarantees act entitles me to. I bought it from a place called Spot Auto Auctions in Penrose Auckland, they have said that they will pay half of the cost of replacing the seals.

The goods you purchased must be fit for the purpose. By shitting itself on the first day of ownership they most certainly are not. Under the consumer guarantees act you are entitled to take the whole car back and get your money back from them.
