Degreaser - brake dust remover??

Eeny, meeny, miny, mo. I'm going to take a look today probably so hopefully these things aren't too expensive.

Ended up buying CRC 'Brakleen'. The be's good enough i hope.

Bloody h*ll man. This stuff seems to be permanantly stuck on!

The only thing the Brakleen properly cleaned was the back of the muffler (which is now shiny again). But i think it was only dirt on it.

I give up. The only thing that could remove this stuff by the looks of it is some sort of metal polishing equipment (i was out there for about an hour or more).
Waste of $14.00.

take the wheel off and spray, let soak, hit it with a stiff plastic scrubbing brush, rinse, repeat...should be better.
just like with cleaning engines, often just the spray isnt enough by itself, especially when its caked on over the years in places like like inner mags.

Yeah i took one of the wheels off and sprayed it (they spray drys surprisingly quick). I tried a plastic brush (like the ones used to clean dishes, but with stiffer bristles) but even after hard scrubbing and repeated spraying it barely took anything off. A rag seemed to do a better job than the brush (but still not that good a job).

Do you think a polisher/buffer thingy would help - something that wouldn't take the paint off?

Try some toothpaste ... you gotta have some of that already .. just get some and try it ..
