4age Oil pressure gauge sender unit questions

Postby KwS » Mon Aug 15, 2005 12:59 am

Right. mate bought an 84 AW11 MR2.

It has a bluetop 4age in it.

We have a problem though. We found the wire that runs to the stock pressure gauge just sitting around in the engine bay. not plugged into anything.

We used good old searches to find the "pressure sender" which is next to the oil filter, and next to the exhaust manifold and the A/C pump. little round brass thing apparently. Thats there, we have had a look at it (hard to see though).

Where does the wire for the stock oil pressure gauge plug into? anyone got pics of it plugged in?

Cheers.

Also, if its a small sender unit much like a temp one the oil pressure gauge won't work - those are for a light. You need the one that has a chamber about 40mm in diameter and about 30mm high on it. The wire slides onto the nipple as mentioned.
See ya

Unless its another temp sender, the gauge temp sender is located on the front left of the block...which on a m2 means the rear right hand side by the inlet man.
