i have a 91 celica zr (with a slow ass FE engine) and am wondering what i can do to get a little more power (apart from an engine swap), things like plugs: what type etc
so far ive got a poddy and replaced the rear muffler

also, can anyone recommend what type of lowering springs i should look at?

thanks

Plug wise, imo, none will really make you any faster, just keep to the standard set, make sure they are in good condition.
Make sure your pod has lots of cold air ducted to it, if possible, even put in a cold box- often people just take out the standard filter and drop in a pod which sucks in truckloads of hot air from the engine bay.
Could always get a full exhaust done, depending how restrictive the standard unit is.
what sort of budget are you working with to improve power?

spring wise, you will get lots of opinions here. Ive used kings- were a little soft, but dropped well (ok for road use), Jamex- were happy as with them on my last car. Mr Revhead can also get TRD's for a good price, you could EMAIL him for a price.
Cant believe im still a member here.

sell it, buy a ge version, or a 4age, the cheapest mod you can do is honestly sell it, and find a better one

I 100% agree with crnkin here!
Any mods you do will give you minimal performance increase for the cost/time. You will simply be chucking money away. If you want to increase performance buy a quicker car, simple as that.

There aint nothing wrong with bolting a turbo onto a 3sfe... would ultimately kill it but you should be able to run low-ish boost without destroying everything. (Someone should be able to tell us the approximate costs)

At the end of the day...

$4500 + to buy all the bits and pay someone to swap the engine from a gt4 celica... $4500-$5500 for an average to decent gt4 celica (st185) /mr2(sw20)

Just hang on a bit and enjoy having your licence

hahaha too true, lisenses are good and you cant put a price on them,

And ive seen gt4 celica's (185's) go for less than 3g, i reckon sell your's for top dollar, buy a shitter, then wait til a good cheap gt4 or similar comes up for cheap
