NO spark from coil *help*

Postby rwd_mayhem » Thu Sep 01, 2005 11:33 pm

ive just upgraded from a 2k to a 3k lol. now its all in and everything but it wont start, ive got petrol, thers no spark from the coil lead at all. ive looked at the coil and drawn a crude picture of my problem, or cud it b something else? all the other wires around the engine bay r connected, and ther doesnt seem 2 b 1 tht will go onto tht random wire.
what is an igniter? wher r the fuses tht cud of possibly been blown?

i'd be saying that'll be for the power supply from the ignition switch when turned on to supply power to the ballast resistor which the other end is on

Check the ballast on the firewall, those wires break all the time.. its' the white ceramic block thing on the firewall, make sure both wires are connected.. and other than that, I don't have any idea what that wire is, I've got k-series engine bay pics, and I can't see it..

ok so power goes into the ballest.
out of the ballest.
into the the coil psitive.
from the coil negative
and to the points

as long as you have power to the coil that will work
then you need to look at thinks like
what are the points like
are they gapped corecttly
have i connected the ht wire
have i got a condensor on the points

there4 you go
