Turbo choice and av gas?

Postby Liloss » Mon Sep 12, 2005 1:46 pm

Righ first q...

What would be the best option for a single turbo set-up on a 3 litre? Wont be running any huge amount of boost just the stock levels. It's not a toyota engine but any turbo will do as i need to make a new maniold anyway...

Secondly, What damage would be cased by running AV gas in a 3sge? Since 96 is still $1.57 and AV gas is only $1.10 it might be a good option if the 3sge will run it without destroying it, But i do understnas it can burn the valves out?

Cheers

Depends on your goals really...T66's seem to produce decent power, as well as not being toooooo laggy ;)
Avgas will (over time) kill your o2 sensor. Potentially your wallet too if you get caught running it 8O

Yup, Avgas is illegal and the cops will kick your ass if they see you're using it (Leaves a visable light greyish colouring on your exhaust)
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Yeah if ur gona run avgas, best to put a dump pipe on the end of the exhaust so the cops cant see the residue on it.

though does a 50/50 mix of avgas & 91 limit tbe o2 sensor damage & stop the residue?
Ending up with spare parts in assembling things since 1983

I think it would lessen the coating of the o2 sensor to an extent, but it doesnt stop the residue.

Yeah coz normal petrol is getting too expensive so ppl are tryn to find alternatives. As for me, I'm experimenting with making my own special blend of 'go-juice' in the lab at work. Almost there, just got to get the octane rating up a bit and work out the price per litre. :D
