heres the install manual:
http://www.prodigit.net/ClarionDB/manua ... 6MC-AS.pdf
2.9mb

it tells you the eact wire code.. and small yellow is the changer power wire, but as you won't be using it unless you have a changer, cover the end with heat shrink or electircal tape and zip securely to the loom :)

HELP....again

Postby 86_rolla » Fri Sep 30, 2005 4:43 pm

this is prolly a really noob question but ah well. I hooked it up today (power and earth, sub and amp) and nothing happend no screen no nothing. Now do u have to have the power for the igntion for it to work or is that just so it turns on and off when igniton turns on and off?

depending on the car, you wire the red lead off the back of the headunit to your ignition wire.. in my celica its a thin grey wire :)

no - unless you wired the red ignition turn on directly to the power wire :)

No it won't I did the exact same thing the first stereo I brought.

I don't know how to explane it but if you dont have power going into both the red and the yellow it will not work.

Simple test twist the ends of yello and red together then twist the ignition wire to the red/yellow and it should start right up not a problem.

Try not to use the factory earth just mount it to the chassis instead as the earth on my nissan was tied into the headlights so when they went on it dimmed the stereo display at night.

So when i turned the cd player on with the head lights It would pop the fuse weird i know but thats what happend.

Serves me right for buying a NISSAN

that would be because you earthed the HU on to one of the dash light wires. Not the fault of the car at all. Nissan = good.

And yes thats a good test, but dont leave it like that otherwise it will loose its memory every time you start the car, or wont switch off when the cars switched off, depending on if you used the battery wire or the acc wire :D

Sorry about the nissan remark but I just find so many of there factory extras to be a pain in the butt.

Like seat belt pre tensioners had to replace them pain in the butt and the earthing thing and alot of mechanical parts.

I really didn't like that car.
