^^^ i have the exact same problem with my w55, dam plastic bush.

man unless you have a big budget and are not goin to leave a single stone unturned on your car, its hardly worth rebuilding a w55 for $1200. i wish i could say i see your logic in rebuilding it because it drives better, but in my opinion i think the real logical option would be to save $1150 and spend it elsewhere. w55s are good solid boxes, even with higher km's clocked up.

JZX90 half cut your paying for the engine on that at a premium $1650 for the front cut and then shipping on top thats automatic not manual and if you want the engine and ecu it's even cheaper as your not getting half a car with it.

And as for the ST205 if you want a half cut of a 3SGE i can think of later models with gen 3 3sgte for around the same price as above.

Turbos start at atleast 1000 for late models and for sr20det rb20dets etc are 300 starting as all there doing is taking up space they dont use these motors anymore as most arn't emissions compliant an to old now.

What do you mean by that exactly? I don't want a 3SGE that's why I asked for an ST205 = GT4 = 3SGTE.
It's specifically the ST205 Celica front cut that I want :!:

That is the only problem we ever found with the W55 we all use,
apart from the odd shift fork failure caused by a rough driver.

We have brass bushes made up for the w55 boxes and get rid of the feeling that you refer to as the '20 year old gearbox feel'.
Makes them feel like new again.

Sure they may have worn syncro's but when it's a race car and all it ever get is hard rough high rpm changes the syncro's dont last anyway and they are not needed as they still shift fine when worn with a slight snick on the down change. We did rebuild one and there was no advantage over the worn ones we were using.
The only failures we had with them were HP related.

We have run the W55's in the last few projects we built and have had more trouble with the one car we built with an R154 than all the W55's,
and we have also been lead to believe that the 6 speed supra box is not all it's cracked up to be.
