diff uprade for ae86

Postby JustinSpiderholden » Thu Oct 13, 2005 3:46 pm

hey is it possible to put a supra celice diff into a ae86 as i think these would make a better upgrade than a hilux diff as you can still purcashe the trd lsd 4 them

as far as my knowledge extends the supra g series lsd internals will fit in the g series hilux rear. + goodluck putting irs into an ae86!

The best option would be hilux rear with a locked diff! no mucking round with lsd's and both wheels going all the time!

Ok AE86 have a T series live rear end and a celica supra has a T series independant or an F series independant.

What celica supra are you talking about???

F Series is way bigger but like I said I have only ever seen them as independant rear.

I have seen a F series solid axle just have to hunt around one. As for the trd lsd worries about that shimmed hilux lsd will do the trick easy in the old ae86

altezza is F series irs so looks like you can get f series factory lsd still. Trd do a LSD for altezza aswell they swap onto a solid head with abit of playing. Also hilux is overkill but t-series will still break behind a na 4age if doing skids

the only thing similar between f series irs and independant is the crown and pinion wheel size! the spider casing/lsd clutches/whatever you put in there is not the same and will not fit! Irs being the bigger one ofcourse!

Irs stuff can be swapped im sure many people have done it on here before I have done it with t-series gear. I have a torsion altezza factory f series lsd from a wrecker and the crown wheel swaps over also the axles fit havnt finished yet as its a busy time at uni. So you guys can stow it
