Cold air box question

i have recently made a cold air box and installed a pod filter. the box goes around the filter and up the pipe a little bit (200mm)

question - is it worth extending the box right up to the throttle body to prevent the heat getting to the rest of the pipe? at the moment the bit of pipe in the air box remains cold but the bit outside it gets reasonably warm

i doubt you would notice any differance
you have got the cold air going into the tube and that is the aim for what you have done

if ur using aluimin to pipe will heat up. that's y ppl you stainless steel not affected by heat so much.
say it was turbo you would use aluimin pipe from turbo to the intercooler(cause the intercooler will cool down the air) stainless out of the intercooler to intake manifold.(cause its not so affected by heat!)

stainless holds heat a lot longer, alloy cools a lot faster.

most people only go for stainless as its shiny to start with

If your worried about heat getting in just wrap the pipe in that thermal shit that keeps stuff cold, (bit bogie but just cut up some of those cool chain bags they keep the heat out)
