58 seconds @ 5.4kph :D

At least he had the balls to put his car down the strip

Good on ya Mike!!! :D

Sorry? What was that? I didn't hear you over the sound of your car not being able get into gear properly because of a "buggered bearing" in the clutch ;)

For someone that had a big cry about his car getting a bit banged up awhile ago... and not even game enough to put his own car down to strip... you've got alot of nerve commenting on other peoples efforts and failures.

I didn't have a "big cry". I just told everyone what happened and that I didn't want to talk about it.
As for not being "game" enough, well thats a joke. Perhaps if you saw the roads I drive over every day, you'd see that going in a straight line is fairly simple. I don't really see whats so "game" about it. It's just not my idea of fun to participate in.
As for commenting on other peoples efforts and failures, you make it look like I was taking the piss out of Mike or something. Not so. I felt bad that his car had trouble, hence why I was there with Brad trying to help him diagnose the problem. I just thought it was rather humourous that the anouncer also called out his time and speed. At least try to bring a lighter side to the situation.
It just seems to me that its only funny when YOU seem to "take the piss" Greg. Like the fat ass MR2. That was funny at first, but you seem to carry it on after everyone else has stopped. You don't hear me complaining. Unless you want to count now, which you can if you want, I don't mind.

Just lighten up a bit dude!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

my best was 14.7@157...

track was pretty slippery - was more a case of not enough heat in the track cause the sun wasn't out and also there was too much rubber on the track and it was creating a lot of marbles out there on the launch pad.....

Spot on about the track, and specifically the marbles. I started the day off with a 15.03 , by the time of my semi in Class C I had run a 14.23 at 162.1 kph. I decided to go for the Doctor in the semi, hit boost/fuel cut (felt like an anchor was dropped) in low and second when I red lined.... and ended up running a 15.6 instead of the sub 14 I was aiming for  . I'm still only able to "launch" at 1600rpm, and the Boost cut comes in approximately at 10 psi(still using T Piece to get me above the 7psi stock boost).
I'm going to hold off mods until early 2006, but am thinking of entering my sleeper in the Night drags........we will see closer to the day.
On another note, a lovely lady representing Toyspeed came up to me after the event and presented me with a TOYSPEED decal to put on my Cressida. I have MISPLACED it, so if that Lady can contact me, I wouldn't mind having another one... payment IS an option. :P

I've been reading this and the other threads for a while now off and on. Sounds like a great day. Sad not to be there after been at the last two h/t drags.
Can anyone tell me who/what won what classes, and what were the times? I've been looking everywhere but only seem to find peoples individual times. Please dont flame me if its posted somewhere.
Thanks, see you all at the next h/t drags with a sub 12 et.(hopefully)
btw...when are the next h/t drags being planned for?

The turbo in the supra is a ct26 from a supra rebuilt with a new steel exhaust wheel and a to4b vtrim compressor wheel.

no official results are yet Al, so I can't say I "won" D class.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

How can they not be official? You kept winning till the end?

One thing that I noticed was the timing....it seemed that it was just the quickest ET that won the race...not who got to the end first? Would I be correct to assume that.

Well i dont know how the worked the racing , because i was in the last 4 in d class . I beat silent night then went on to race akane, and lost then next thing i saw silent night racing the white supra even though he should have been elliminated . So the final two should have been akane and the white supra , so the winner of that race should have taken it out.

Thats how they've done it before when I've raced at meremere.

Sounds like everyone had a good day sad to have missed it.

nope the quickest ET was not always winning
the timing gear in the tower tell you who wins based on reaction and ET as per the norm,

Would appear to have been the case as I actually beat Akane across the line in the quarter final but he still beat me with a 14.05.

Well done though for winning the class :D I have a feeling things will be a bit different next year
