IIRC, a "rebuilt" ceramic CT20b has at least the turbine wheel and shaft replaced as a unit (plus the oil-film shaft and thrust bearings replaced), and maybe the "core" replaced outright as well (I can't remember if the Cermic Turbine & shaft can be simply swapped with the shaft for the steel turbine - I'm just barely remembering what was shown on a demo night at Alltech).

The Ceramic trubine is "fused" (for want of a better word) onto the shaft. Removing, let alone installing, the compressor wheel without shattering the turbine wheel is a delicate operation...

Oh, and Alltech Desiel and Turbo (in Wairua, North Shore) are reasonably well recommend.

And change your oil and oil every 5000km.

I wa stalking to a guy down at alltech the other day and he reckons that its pretty a waste of time as the ct20 is smaller than the ct26. He recomended that I get a gt25 garret instead

What does it mean when they say the A/R ratio of the housing is is static?? What is the A/R of a stock ct20b vs the biggest "hybrid" ct26??

Cheers
