damn it, I keep playing with this app, and all I get is "unable to determin power curve exponent", even when feeding in the correct details...

side note: if you change the wheels to 205inches wide, with 50%, it makes your top speed go through the roof... I was trying to figure out WTF I had screwed up when it was hitting 963mph in third. :)

These figures below are my guestimate figures with the SAFC and Profec Tuned up and I haven't got it on the Dyno yet so I will post stock figures if there's a problem with the below guestimates...

Also the last couple of figures I do not know....will this info do or do I need to get hold of the exact figures?

I downloaded this programme last night, it is very cool. I had it on my computer ages ago (like when I was 13) and it used to keep me entertained for hours :oops:

My Levin managed a 14.5 1/4 mile which probably isnt far off at all

Yep, I'm having heaps of fun playing with it ... the dos version is a bit clunky, but still perfectly useable (and not demo afaik).

Just a couple of things that are getting in the way ... how do I work out co-efficient of drag? And what do I put as final drive ratio if I'm unsure of it?

Coeffiecient of drag doesnt really affect the performance much I have found. I used around 0.33-0.35 which seems fairly standard.

Final drive ratio, you could just go into the database of cars the programme has on it and look for something with a 4age and copy it from there?

Coefficient of drag drastically affects the cars top speed.

Have a look under the 'drive train losses' or whatever its called, it shows you how much loss aerodynamic drag accounts for at high speed.
Lets just say that it is A LOT.

A few points difference in CD can make quite a difference to top speed, assuming you arent maxed out by gearing.

And on a side note:

I just got all of my engine parts back today, so from now on this will be consuming pretty much ALL of my spare time.

So I wont really have any time to run any more cars through, Ive got a million and one things to do.

Apologies to those who posted their cars without me running it, perhaps you could ask aesc or lanius very nicely to do it for you instead. 8)

of course, if you want to play around with your fantasy cars, you could always just download it yourself

I realised this is a wicked program I used to have on an old computer. It's fun to put in ridiculously powerful cars and watch them on a track, they accelerate for a split second then spend the rest of the time decelerating for corners. Fun :)

i have a program called dyno 2000, which allows you to play around with everything about the motor, and see how it affects the power and torque.

very fun and interesting to play with

launching at 2200rpm, hmm I can never launch at 2200rpm it will prob stall, the program seems to give you real shit tyres lol cos my car hardcore wheel spins into 3rd on it.

hmm i must be doign somethign wrong. I put in my old cars stats and it can only do a 13.2 but a higher trap speed than my 12.9 i managed in real life. this program seems like its driving on hard rock tyres...

what am i doing wrong....

ahh good ole cartest, i've had this program for about 5 years now
its not that accurate. it can't emulate traction that well etc.

it said my WRX should do 13.7, i did 13.57 in real life.

I've been tinkering with this program for a few hours and wondered what sort of difference it would make to my times if I changed it to say that my car was 1cm wider... interestingly enough it makes my car 1.4 seconds faster and 0.1km/h more on top speed on nurbrugring

adding 5cm to the stock car width gives me 1.6 seconds and 0.4km/h

adding 10cm slows it again to the same as adding 1cm...

I would hazard to guess that it is quicker due to being able to handle sideways forces while cornering better... sould about right?

But that's assuming that your coefficient of drag stays the same, while being a wider car.... Which I doubt would be the case.

Also widening your car (even if its a wide body kit) would probably add a TINY amount of weight, enough to negate the tiny advantage that you gain. :)

Also bear in mind that this program makes HUGE and inaccurate guesses about a lot of things about your vehicle....
it cant take into account things like suspension type, suspension setup etc. It is interesting to get a very rough indication of performance, but thats about it.

It's probably as much of an accurate gauge as Gran Turismo. :)
