Postby beeker » Sat Nov 19, 2005 8:02 am

For your interest,

best of 3x runs was 15.6
prob could of got it a little lower with more time and practice.

Car has:
AE101 4agze with ae101 stock ecu
stock pully
TRD LSD
Paddle clutch (not slipping here)
Dunlop road legal race tyres
Stripped, but full cage added (so prob approx same weight as std car)

what gearbox and gearing you got. if it was me i'd be hoping for at least 14's from what i've seen with a couple of others. especially considering race tyres, stripped, lsd etc

just my 2c, but good to see you get out there,

Std TRD Diff ratio, and Std T50.

Race tyres (road cert) wont make much diff i dont think, unless you really heat them up prior. It weighs more than a std factory car even though its stripped as it has a heavy'ish full cage in it. No fibreglass bits either, and heavy autosport steel frame race seats.

Tims "gdsup" supercharged AE-86 ran a 13.7 1/4 mile. He has changed his setup now so it could be running faster times

Not bad for a SC12. Assume a bit more boost than my std 8.5psi !!
I would be interested to hear more about his setup if anyone knows.

What 60ft times and what trap speed are you getting? These are just as important as your ET.

Only did 3x runs. Best was:
R/T= .296
60'= 2.311
1/8= 10.036, KPH=113.22
1/4= 15.65, KPH=140.26

There was potentially a little bit more in it, but no more than .2

This was during the practice session. Didnt go out when it got to race time (when it got colder/stickerier).

I kinda felt mid 15's was acceptable for a stock 170hp, but i'll take your feedback.

PS, Here is the Dyno:

i took my 4agze out, all stock, wasnt stripped or anything
my best read as
reaction-.609
60ft-2.268
trap speed-92.21 (152kph if my maths in correct)
ET-15.006

so a 15.00@92 and that was a stock ae92 4agze in fulltrim

hey man ... something not right there ...
ae86 with stock engine just headers and filter can get mid to high 15s with semi decent tyres like grid 2 or similar.

your trap speed indicates that something is up as 140k is pretty slow for a 4agze

How do you think the Dyno chart looks ? Normal or off ?

With what mods ?

Also, i'm told the drop off at the top of my chart is normal for the AE101 4agze ECU ?? Sound right ??

Tims 4AG-ZE powered AE86, running custom inlet manifold and MAP gze ecu. factory boost & sc pulley, 4-1 extractors, 2 1/4 exhaust, fmic.

The drop on your charts is common but its certainly not ment to be like that.

Your dyno chart looks ok. 140k is a low trap speed though, did you keep your foot right to the floor till definately passed the timing beam?

What rev's are you changing gear at?

Yes kept the foot down the whole way. Have done meremere a few times before and are aware of the 1/4 mile timing end point.

I was changing near the rev limiter, and should have probably changed earlier.

the power your ze is putting out just seems low .. but lots of them are for some reason .... when you think that one of our bluetops with headers etc will put down 82-88kw@wheels on that dyno your 12kws for 8psi of boost is pretty poor. My first suggestion would be to either buy a custom manifold off Tim or make yourself a RWD cut shut job standard manifold ...

but yeah .. a 4agze in ae86 stock should do 14s
