Anyone bought from KW NZ?

I'm thinking about buying a couple of pieces from these guys, just want to know if anyone has purchased anything from them? Good? Bad? Experiences?

Particularly interested in comments on the quality of their products.

yeh i brought a couple of seats off them aye. If its hard out quality u want from them i wouldnt recommend them. The seats i got, are mad of fabric that gets heaps of "pulls" in it so you have to be extra careful with it . There service and stuff is alrite, i think they also have a warranty for manufacterers faults

Fair enough ... I tend to care more about the quality of product than the brand name, hence me asking if anyone has purchased anything from them I don't need race approved gear or anything like that, just a comfortable seat that I won't slide off every time I go round a corner at anything over 20kph.

The cushions on thier buckys pull out too, theyre just valcro'd on, but theyre quite nice seats for everyday. Not racing or anything. their quality overall is pretty good, havnt brought anything off them just had a descent play in thier shop.

Yeh, I saw that part about the cushions, still not sure if thats a good or bad point

The showroom you checked out ... was that the one on Cook Street in the city?

I'm waiting on replies from both Racetech and Racepro regarding some of their seat models, but I'm willing to bet they'll come in around double the cost of one of these KW models. Would rather pay more and get a seat that will last more than 6 months tho

Yup was the one in town, Segedins out at airport oaks have nice EMH bucket seats for $450 a pair, having seen these in person to id say these are a step up from the KW seats. Maybe check them out, theres also another place in Manurewa which stock seats of the similar class for about $550 a pair, again good seats.

I will be looking at getting one of their seats for me soon. And I need it FIA approved which most their good ones are but I'd be interested to know in what sort of price for which range I'll be looking at paying and also how comfortable teh seats are.

RaceTech FIA (4000 model, 1000 has no FIA approval) is over $800 a seat. Apparently Jamex have FIA approval on some of their seats but not in the country yet.

I'm not after a FIA approved seat as they tend to cost more, and I'm not going to be entering any competitions. Looking at the Racetech 1000, which is pretty much the standard, non-reclineable, non-FIA replacement bucket seat. I don't want anything over the top, too brightly coloured or otherwise attention-drawing ... trying to keep the car as inconspicuous as possible

Just looking at some of the Jamex seats ... most of them appear to be steel framed, as opposed to the Racetech / Racepro fibreglass seats. I've been warned to avoid Jamex seats if possible as they're heavier and not as good quality as the Racetech / Racepro seats.

I take it you've had a different experience with them Purple?

Racetech 100 are possibly the best value seat from a reputable manufacturer if you are after a one piece composite seat. there are steel framed seats that are possibly a better option for a road car, as they bolt to factory runners.

Nah, just what I have found from researching for my own car. I am currently looking at importing some OMP seats, steel framed with head restraints. Heavy (12kg) but comparatively cheap for FIA approved with head restraints.

yeh those kw's r alright just for everyday use. Fairly cheap (good or bad thing ) $450 for 2 reclining ones. But i guess if you got the $$ to spare go for the others.

There showroom is on cook street, its inside a building with a couple of other companys aswell.

i got a apr of there deep buckets for the rpice i recon they are very good value and seem to be of ok quaility

These guys may be worth a look for others looking at FIA approved, but approval only seems to be on the carbon fibre and kevlar versions.

Prices were in the latest petrolhead mag, BM-V $495+gst and BM-111 for $460+gst. Not sure on the prices for the carbon fibre and kevlar versions.
