I want to turbo my ae101 trueno with silvertop 4age, just wondering if it will run with standard ecu on approx 6 psi untill i get something after market? My set up will be- Custom made turbo manifold probably made by ''action dan'', tial 38mm external wastegate, t3 turbo off rb20det and 600x300 fmic etc also seems the silvertops hi comp what sort of boost will be safe for it all standard internals etc? cheers

I did search but couldnt find much about if they run on standard ecu low boost etc.

I'd be rebuilding it with low comp pistons before anything. Doubt your injectors will take much boost either, if the ECU does. I've got a spare 20V turbo manifold with a T3 hanging off it at them moment, turbo not for sale but the manifold is. Double layer of heatwrap on the entire thing too, probably was made by actiondan too even

Yup will do injectors to, 3sgte ones? i think. How much for that manifold? Stainless? cheers

yes, covered many many times.....

i wouldnt want to run ANY boost at all on the stock ecu.
first theres the AFM to think of... and then theres the fact that on NZ fuel they are on the limit anyway... 6psi wont be very nice....

best to ring around ppl in your area,
and depend also on what system you go for.
personally id go for a link, but microtech are an option. and if your good with sparky shit theres megasquirt

yer id get low comp ZE pistons first before anything, then start from there, but def get an ecu, like link etc. ohterwise with high comp pistons even with tune, dodgy and wouldnt be reliable

False hope yes, broken pistons is just going to look like the adivce he got from toyspeed is wrong, and that doesn't really help us or them.

get 8.0:1 ZE pistons
new rings
new bearings
manifold
intercooler
link
turbo
a blow off valve

and you will be fine for some good numbers

if going in a fwd road car id go for 8.9 for better drivebility.
a high power peaky on/off boost fwd is a bit of a handfull.

matt recomendign low comp :O what is the world comming too!

run 8.9:1 pistons, with a good af ratio, like just under 12 all the way, and youll be mint, Search club 4ag too, theyre real good, theres a guy running 650+ hp in a 4age with 8.7:1 comp ratio, only prob is the bores keep splitting...... bugger
