aw11 battery relocation

Postby lil » Sun Dec 04, 2005 7:11 am

Does anyone know what I need to do to relocate my battery to the front?

I can fabricate mounts etc but was wondering specifics on wiring.

Cheers

Although not spacific to the aw, these links from a while ago deal with all you need to know except the spacific route to take your cable. For that I would just follow the main loom from the back, through the passenger side and out the front near the relay box.

Cant believe im still a member here.

actually the best route on the aw11 is down the central tunnel. i just pulled off the plastic trays underneath and ran it there, zip tied in place paying special attention to any sharp bits or where it could rub, anywhere i didnt like got covered in foam rubber. as mines had the aircon ripped out i used one of the holes for the pipes to feed into the frunk, just so happens the rubber grommet there was just the right size :D

there's a bit of info about how I mounted mine here

the wiring side of things is pretty straightforward, just earth the negative terminal, and run a power cable from battery to the starter motor, and connect any of the other wires that used to go onto the battery terminal to the starter motor also. Pays to put a couple of fuses in there too
