hello

does anyone have any information on this engine? pictures or whatever? the most i found was on here http://www.toysport.com/Technical%20Inf ... rticle.htm (about half way down) and someone claiming it can handle 90PSI :?:

specs translated:
-displacement 2,1L
-compression ratio 8,0:1
-power 1150hp @ 10000rpm / 960hp with regular pump gas
-torque +1000Nm @ 6800rpm
-Weight with all equipments 210kg
-Engine management = Hestec ( http://www.sci.fi/~hestec2/english/index.htm )
-2 x 1500cc per cylinder (total injectors 8)
-Individual throttle bodies
-Dry sump oil system
-Head is magnesium
-twincam with 10-12mm lift, 16 valves
-Toyota CT44 turbo modified by til-racing
-Air to water IC
-Engine is used in a dragster which performance is 0-400m 6,91s @ 317,79 km/h, 0-100km/h in less than 0.8s and distance needed to reach 100km/h is about 15meters.

503e was intended to be Toyota's engine for the still born Group C Formula (Jag's XJ220 was designed primarily for this formula aswell). Upon the announcement of the IMSA series, Toyota and Dan Gurney (motorsport LEGEND) joined forces to create the all dominating Eagle GTP car.

Possibly the most important attribute of 503e, was the installation of oversized water jackets surrounding the exhaust ports.

can't quote as fact, but the 503 was the race inspired version of the 18RG, but equipped with the 16v head, with later became the 3STG. the name '503' was possibly just an accession number through some trial and error on the project, much like the 2TG derivative of similar title.

I dont have a paticular source.. just some reseach i did 2-3 years ago when i had a strong interest in this type of thing.

The water jacket thing i read on the mr2 forums years ago . Myte still be in there archives.
The Dan Gurney/Eage/IMSA is just basic Toyota motorport history... Thats all over the web

pretty good price I think...What else could you buy for that price that has 1150 hp...at 10000 RPM! 8O

a little googling found one that revs to 18000RPM and was ~1650HP... so there are some who think that this is not enough.
