Installing a LED turbo timer in my Caldina.

Need help of installing a led turbo timer in my caldina.. just need help with what wire is the ignition and which wire is 12 volt feed.

Any help would be great'

are you asking which wires on the caldina, or which wires on the turbo timer???

I've got the same problem i guess our best bet is to ring toyota and ask them to tell us as they should have the workshop manual on hand

Simple (and practical) solution, don't bother to fit it

A turbo timer is of little value (actually no value) when used with a water cooled turbo like Toyota uses.

IMHO anyone installing a Turbo timer on a GT-T is doing it purely for the wank factor, there is no need and certainly no benefit to be had from using one. If I wasn't such a lazy bastard I remove the one the PO had installed in mine, but switching it off has the same effect so that will have to do.

Of course if you bothered to use the search function you could find all the info you need to up the wank factor of your Caldina.... Hmmm maybe a good reason for me to remove such useful info if that's all that people are going to use it for

Err I'll call BS on that one right now. Turbo timers are used to cool turbos down alright, but just to the point that the oil won't coke and block the feed line, which is of course a lot higher temp than a water cooled turbo runs.

As for keeping them lubricated when they shut down, unless you're a complete and utter moron and shut you engine off under full throttle, the turbo is spinning at the same speed as it would be after running on a turbo timer for 3 mins wasting precious oil reserves and polluting the atmosphere. Even if you're prone to such foolish acts the residual pressure and oil supply is more than sufficient to keep the bearing intact in most circumstances.

What benefit is there to Toyota NZ in releasing such information?

None that I can see, and it certainly makes more business sense to direct potential customers to the dealer’s workshops, than it does to provide DIY enthusiasts with such info.

Don't be so dense, without a turbo timer, how are people supposed to know that the car is turbo? How can you claim there is no purpose to a device that allows you to walk away from your still idling car, keys in hand, with all the ladies checking you out as you slip on your sunnies, arm your alarm (cue flashing of indicators), and nonchallantly stroll into the sunset as your mighty beast drones in the background for a further 60 seconds?

they only time u need to let em cool down is if youv been thrashing it.

and i dont mean laps on a friday night, youd have to be doing stupidly insane stuff on the road to heat it up that much.

other wise by the time youv driven home and got ya wallet outta the glove box etc its cooled.
